Taylor Swift live webcast
The students in the 4th and 5th came to the tech lab to watch a live Taylor Swift event. Taylor talked about the importance of reading and the difference it made in her life. She also said how having something you love (for her it was writing) to help get you through those Jr. High years. No matter how bad a day was, she could always go home and write songs and play her guitar. At the end of the broadcast, she even sang a song from her new album!
HeartMath Stress Reduction Technique
Using a ear or finger probe heart monitor and software, the students practice reducing their stress by regulating their breathing. The games on the software give the students visual clues when their heart rate drops so they can tell when their breathing is evening out and their bodies are relaxing. This software is available through a grant from Alegent.

Below are their vacation snapshots!
Joseph is visiting the Pyramids
The Pyramids are created by Pharos in Egypt centuries ago. The Great Pyramids are made of 20 million sun burn stones and each of those blocks weighs 5,000 pounds. Pyramids are home of the mummies because mummies tombs were left in the Pyramids. There were hidden anti chambers in the Pyramids and there were rooms for queens and kings to sleep in! Lastly, the Pyramids are the oldest man-made structure still standing!
